There are many accommodation options in the immediate vicinity of the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the conference center where ICA2013 will be held. There are many hotels, ranging from small to large, economical to upscale. University residences provide a low-cost alternative for students.

Hotel accommodation

In order to assist you with finding accommodations, the conference organizers have reserved guestrooms in a number of nearby hotels. These special bookings offer congress participants a range of accommodation options in different price ranges. To secure these preferential rates, hotel reservations must be made through Tourisme Montréal's Housing Bureau. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly recommend that you book early -- June is the beginning of the peak tourist season; as well, the the Montréal F1 Grand Prix race will be held immediately following ICA 2013.

3 May 2013.The cut-off date for reserving through the Tourisme Montréal housing service has been passed. Any changes now need to be made directly with the hotel properties. The Hyatt has a few rooms still available if delegates contact them directly, but the other five hotels are sold out.

University accommodation

Blocks of dormitory rooms have been arranged at two local universities.

Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)

For rooms at UQAM, reservations can be made directly via their website http://www.residences-uqam.qc.ca/hotel/en/. Click on "Book Online", and be sure to choose "West Lodge". For June 1st to 5th, the cost of a private studio (double bed size and private bathroom) is $71 (plus taxes) per night. For the Grand Prix period, from June 6th until June 9th, the cost of a private studio is $120 (plus taxes) per night (the rates displayed online may be higher than the actual rates negotiated). Guests must mention "ICA 2013" in the comments box in order to benefit from the special discount. They will be charged for 50% as a reservation deposit, and they should pay the other 50% upon their check-in. Please note that this property does NOT accept American Express credit cards; only Visa and Master Card are accepted.

The UQAM West Lodge residence is located at 100, rue St. Urbain. It is approximately 10 minutes away from the Palais des congrès by foot.

McGill University

Rooms are available at the McGill University New Residence Hall. Room rate is $99 per night (plus taxes), for the nights of June 1st to June 7th. After June 7, the room rate rises to $160. Guests should contact the residence directly to reserve accommodations and should refer to the group name "ASA -- The Acoustical Society of America". The McGill New Residence Hall is located at 3625, ave du Parc. It is approximately 20 minutes away from the Palais des congrès by foot.

Transportation from the airport

To get from the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport to your hotel or university dormitory, a couple options are available:

You can get a taxi or limousine at the arrivals level near the central exit located in front of the cloakroom, where a dispatcher will assist you. No reservation is required. All taxi and limousine operators working out of Montréal-Trudeau are required to have a permit and to comply with its terms and conditions. The fixed fare of CDN$40 applies to a taxi trip from the airport to downtown Montréal (one-way). The same trip with Limousine service costs CDN$55-60. A number of adapted taxis, for passengers with reduced mobility, are available at the airport; ask the dispatcher for this service. Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards are accepted. Some drivers accept U.S. currency but provincial regulations require customers to pay in Canadian currency.

The 747 bus line service runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between the Montréal-Trudeau airport and downtown. All conference hotels are within a few blocks walking distance from stop #7, located at the corner of Rene Levesque Boulevard and Jeanne Mance Street. Consult the map shown above. Travel time may vary between 45 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Wi-Fi service is available on most 747 buses. The fare is $8, and includes unlimited travel throughout STM bus and métro networks during 24 consecutive hours. Tickets can be purchased at an easily identified airport booth using credit cards. The $8 fare can also be paid in cash with exact change on board the bus, but only coins are accepted (no bank bills) so it is much better to buy a round trip ticket at the airport terminal. There are departures approximately every 10 minutes.

The conference center is at the Place d'Armes subway (métro) station.
